Access the Library

UD card

You need your UD card to have access to the building through the turnstiles.

  • This card is personal and not transferable
  • It gives access to many services such as borrowing, booking group study rooms or reproduction and printing.
  • In case of loss, the Library must be notified immediately.
  • To apply for a new card: Students, at the General Secretariat and academic and research staff, at the People Management department.

 

Friends of the Library card

How to apply:

By email, by sending the required documents to:

Required documents:

  • A duly completed application form (collect this at the Front Desk or download it here).
  • A photocopy of your national ID card or passport.
  • An ID-sized photograph.
  • A document providing proof of status.

Once submitted the required documentation, if neccessary:

  • The acceptance of the request will be confirmed by email.
  • The applicant will be informed about the payment of the fee (External requesters 50€).
  • The applicant will proceed to the payment of the fee and send the bank receipt to the Library.

Finished the processing:

  • The applicant will receive an invitation to request an @opendeusto account, in case of not having one yet. This account is essential for activating the card; moreover, it will be used for all communications and access to all services and e-resources the Library provides.
  • The Library will inform by email when the card is available.

The card will be valid for one year.

In case of loss, the Library must be notified immediately.

 

OpenDeusto

How to obtain an @opendeusto account:

  • Students: when first enrolling at the university.
  • Friends of the Library: When applying for the Friends of the Library card.

The @opendeusto account allows you to:

  • Access to Eduroam WiFi network.
  • Book Group Study Rooms (students).
  • Use the computers located in the Reference Room.
  • Log in to Océano (Catalogue + E-Resources).
  • Get access to information resources from outside the University of Deusto.

Remote access

There are two ways to access the library's e-resources from outside the university:

1.- VPN

This technology allows you to simulate being on the network on campus.
